Trouble with bowels

I'm 26+2 weeks pregnant and over the last 4 weeks I have been struggling with my bowels. I get either constipation or diarrhoea and I never feel like I have emptied my bowels completely. I can be out somewhere and I get horrible stomach pains like I have trapped wind and most of the time it is wind. It's happening everyday. It's starting to make me feel really miserable when going out as I feel like I constantly have to be by a toilet just incase. My husband thinks part of its me worrying too much but has anyone else suffered from these symptoms? It's what I'd imagine IBS to feel like. Hoping to see the doctor in a few days but just thought I'd see if anyone else has suffered from this?

try eating a yogurt every day to help promote healthy digestion, especially because when you are pregnant, it will help keep you regulated and not so constipated, also add some fresh fruit into your diet.
the yogurt will also help keep yeast infections at bay, and a glass of cranberry juice every day will keep uti's away.  to me adding those in your diet is better than any pill :)

My brother also has IBS and all of my symptoms matched his. It's just bizarre how it's come on over the last month as I never struggled before. I had the odd bloat/constipation but what pregnant woman doesn't? This doesn't feel normal and I can totally understand what you mean by social anxiety. I feel the same. I will try altering my diet. At the moment I'm craving a lot of fried food so will cut that out and see if it helps. Thanks for your advice. Wishing you a smooth pregnancy

Sounds like ibs to me. I have suffered with it since I was a kid. The pain is unbearable at times & I get a lot of social anxiety because of it. Pregnancy has actually alleviated some of my symptoms though. Thank goodness. Usually The first thung the dr will tell you to do is modify your diet. Try to stay away from foods that cause gas and bloat and irritate the bowels.  Anything with dairy and fresh vegetables like broccoli will do it for me a lot of times. I know it's hit and miss though. What hurts you one day won't the next. I'm sorry you have to deal w this. As someone who has dealt with it for over 16 years I really do feel for you.
