Trying Too Soon?

I had a miscarriage when I was 8 weeks pregnant, and my obgyn advised me not to have intercourse for 3 weeks and that once the 3 weeks was up that I could indeed try again. Is this too soon in others opinions? I do not want to have another miscarriage.

thanks so much for that feedback, because it has been a month and a week and I have this strange feeling like I could possibly be pregnant again, and I want to make sure it's safe if I indeed am pregnant.

It really depends. I had a miscarriage at about 4 weeksback in sept 2007 I began having intercourse when the bleeding stopped and found out I was pregnant again less than a month later in oct 2007.
My doctor didn't really give me guidelines other than not to have sex while I'm atill bleeding because it can introduce bacteria in to the vagina which could cause more issues.
