I got it offered in PA this pregnancy. This is my second and I will be 22 on Thursday. All you can do is ask.
Im 23 and having my 4th! I begged The dr after my 2nd to tie my tubes but she said I was too young to make that decision.. then I had my 3rd I begged after him too! Lol they refused. Im due june 20th ill have 2 girls and 2 boys and they're still giving me a hard time about it but legally they have to let me do it this time! They're making me wait til she's born to sign the consent papers though. but, I wouldnt change it for the world, I wouldnt have the 4 little loves of my life if they would of done it when I wanted it. :)
When I had my son I was sure he would be my only one. Two years later decided we wanted another one and im 31wks pregnant. They wont do it till 25 or 3 kids because you are so young they dont want you to regret it
Kentucky wont do it until ahe 25 or 2 kids. I was born in Kentucky and was baby #3 and the only girl and they didnt want to do my moms. The only reason at that time she was able to get it done was bc she worked at the hospital i was born at. So in 22 yrs theyve loweredbit to 25yr/2kids.
oh well, scratch that.. she was over 25 too lol so maybe that's why she was able to have it done!! ha!! lol
I'd just talk to the doctor & see! lol preggo brain over here, sorry!! ((:
yeah, but definitely just go ahead & talk to your doctor about your options if you can't have them tied. I'm in SC and the same rules apply.. except obviously my mother only had 2 kids, but she had seizures after my brother was born.. so I'm not positive if that influenced the doctor into believing it'd be okay for her to have hers tied.
so, medical reasons may influence, and/or other reasons..
good luck!!! & congratulations! I'm only 13w4d.. due Oct. 24th!! (((:
It used to be 6 children here in Florida! Now I'm not sure but they will make you wait 24 hours after giving birth to have it done in case anything happens to your baby and you want to try again.
Well when you put it like that, I can definitely understand.
Omg, I agree. Why do they force you to wait until you're 25? I know now that I won't want anymore children. And I'll feel the same when I'm 25.
not sure of the doctor's reasons, but I do know women who have had it done.. then decided later on they wanted another child.. whether they remarried, changed their mind, or in my mother's case.. my brother passed away, and she wanted so badly for me to have another sibling.
the reversal process is expensive though, very expensive, and pregnancy is NOT guaranteed. it's rather difficult actually.. so a lot of doctors probably just want to make SURE you're 100%. I'll never have my tubes tied, just from my mother's experience. just caused some heartache on our end. "/
Does anyone know why you have to be 25? I think thats rediculous
I had the IUD for just under 3 years and it worked great for me... I also know 4 other moms that have it and love it... no surprises Lol and the Dr can check the string length at your yearly to ensure it hasn't shifted which is what I believe causes the pregnancies with IUD (you can also check it yourself I believe
yeah, I always used birth control pills up until a little over a year ago, JUST BECAUSE I always heard the IUD's & stuff weren't as likely to prevent pregnancy.
IF I decide to use any method after this baby, it'll be the "old school" pills lol!
I talked to a woman who had the Iud and she got pregnant after having it for 4yrs. So Idk If ITS A SURE Thing
I'm A Ftm & I Want The Iud As Well But I Was Told it Was For 7 Yrs.
Dammit. I live in Kentucky. Do any of you ladies know anything about the 10 yr IUD? Does it work? Is it safe?
I'm in Canada and its the same here. 25 or 3 kids
Im from minnesota by the way, figured I should put the state in there
Here the rules are the same over 25 or 3 kids.
It may be different in every state, but here the woman has to be either 25 or already have 3 kids.
