UK mums, dentist help!

Anyone in the UK been able to get NHS dentists with the maternity exemption card? I'm with a private dentist so I don't think they'll accept my card and I can't afford to pay but have no idea where to find an NHS dentist? Anyone had any luck or got a private dentist do check them for free? I have awful toothache and my gums have been bleeding so I really need to get checked :( help! I'm in Lancashire if that helps
