Straight from her momma- "She's doing great can't talk yet sore throat and still weak will need physical therapy but everything upstairs is in tact."
No brain damage and apparently is back to sassing her momma! She will need some therapy to recover but we should have our Cindie back in the near future!!!

A friend of mine from work actually lost his brother (healthy, age 40, father to a 5 year old a girl and a baby who was 8 months old) to complications resulting from pneumonia earlier this year. So sad :-( I don't know how common or uncommon that is to happen, but it definitely can knock down a seemingly healthy young person.

this is such good news! what a relief! i will continue to pray for a speedy recovery for her :) so glad there was no permanent damage!

Woah, that really scares me, my little brother had Pnemonia then got meningitus.. a few days after recovery.

She had pneumonia which led to sepsis (infection in your blood stream). It affected her brain which put her into a coma. Comas are not uncommon for people with pneumonia. I do not know how she got that sick. Her mom said Cindie didn't even realize she was that sick.
Oh yeah I get it... Like if you injure yourself sometimes you need therapy to help it get better...

Cassandra- there are many forms of physical therapy. Something has affected her and she may need the physical therapy to regain strength rather than to re-teach herself basic skills. Does that make sense?
RDH- I friended her mom on Facebook so her mom isn't technically writing to me personally. I'm just watching her wall for updates. ;-) Just thought I'd clarify but it is definitely her mom and definitely all true. I know sometimes we hear things like this and wonder how truthful and real it is because we don't know people in real life. But this is definitely not a troll or unreal. NOT saying that you said it was. Just clarifying because I know some people told me privately they hoped that they were praying and holding onto hope for something that was actually going on.

Yay!!! So happy she is doing better!!!!
What wonderful news! Almost in tears reading this....what an emotional time this has been. Everyone here is like family, especially after 2 almost 3 years of being on medhelp! So glad our Medhelp sister is doing better!
That is wonderful news. She is such a strong woman I am sure she will be back to her old self in no time.
