thanks, i wouldn't take any herbs or stuffs like blue cohosh and the likes, i meant food or activities that can encourage the cervix to start dilating. I have heard of pine apple but then you have to eat lots and lots! thanks for the tip, once i'm 38wks, bedding commences evreyday!! lol
To be honest, I would use any herbal or synthetic things if you are attempting your fifrst VBAC. Anything that can cause contractions to come unexpectedly or more intense can increase your risk of uterine rupture. That said, I'm a very big fan of VBAC, in fact I am totally against repeat c-sections unless there is an absolutel medical necessity. I myself have had 4 vbacs and am planning on another one.
Actually sex is supposed to help induce labor, becuase the semen contains natural prostoglandins that hepl to ripen the cervix. Also, if you go to an appt and find you have begun to dialate a little you can ask your doctor about stripping your membranes. Walking is also good, the gravity helps baby to put pressure on your cervix. The baby's head pressing against the cervix is what helps it to dialate.
thanks, i'll have to get those two things next week, might not be easy in this part of the world but i'll try. I know of sex and nipple stim. but they both speed up the process once it has started rather than starting the party, thanks again.
drinking red dasberry leaf tea from 36 weeks on 3-4 times a day and using evening primrose oil on your cervix or labia will induce labor when you think you are ready, scratch that when you think your body is ready and the baby is ready to come:) Then once you atart having contrations from it either have sex or nipple stimulation.
