Vaginal pain during pregnancy

I am 25 weeks pregnant, and just today when I stood up, had shooting vaginal pain. It was real low down, and pretty constant.  Sitting down, I feel nothing.  I goo.gled this, and found a lot of women say this is pre-term labor, but all the women saying this were at least 35 weeks pregnant.  Well, I'm 25 weeks, so this BETTER not be pre-term labor.

Has anyone experienced this.  Today is the first time I have.  And like I said, now that I'm sitting, it's fine, but when I was standing and walking it was quite evident.  Not sure if I should call the doc?  I don't want to be one of those nervous pregnant women who calls over everything.

Thoughts?

after your baby gets so big it puts pressure on your cervix mostly when you stand up i have had those pains before its nothing to worry about. braxton-hicks contractions also know as pre-term labor is more like a cramp in your lower abdom. it starts as lower back pain but you know i found that lying down on my left side and drinking water helps with those. as you get futher along you will have  them more. the way to tell false labor from real labor is when you lay down it doesnt go away

I get this shooting pain as well but i've been experiencing preterm labor since 32 weeks (not to scare you but this is the case for me) BUT, when i first felt the vaginal pain i too posted it on medhelp and a lot of ladies came forward and said they feel it too...and arent having any preterm labor. So, i dont think the shooting vaginal pain is anyway related to my preterm labor...i think its just another lovely pregnancy side effect and at 25 weeks your baby is getting bigger now and could be pinching a nerve (that could be why you feel it when ur walking but not while sitting...because of babies positioning). Requesting that the doc check ur cervix at your next appointment will be able to put you at ease to make sure that your not dilating (although without contractions i highly doubt you are) but just knowing that everythings "high and closed" will make u feel a lot better...but i think ur fine :)

My pelvic area started hurting around the beginning of the 3rd trimester. Its probably just that, your pelvic bones/muscles are getting ready for the baby's head to descend
