Mucus Plug Question TMI

So, I just went to the bathroom on the toilet paper I notice some thicker mucus. I didn't think anything about it until I got up to flush the toilet and there was about a palmfull of tan/yellow mucus and am having sharp uterine pain and sharp pain in were I would describe my cervix to be. My question is do mucus plugs have to come out in thick musucs chunks like I see in picks or can the consistancy be less jelly like? Because what I seen was not thick jelly.

Okay that's good news I don't remember any of the mucus plus from my last full term pregnancy almost 5 years ago. I just see all these pics of the jelly type and was like ummmm must not be but I'm having horrible cramps from and back they get worse as baby moves 35 weeks and 4 days. I'm happy to know

It can be thick stringy mucus too. I had a massive amount of white thick mucus twice now. No blood in it but apparently that can be it too.
