Very Strong Cramps

I am about 6 weeks pregnant immediately following a miscarriage (I never even had a period, but the pregnancy has been confirmed).  I have been having seriously strong cramps, almost like contractions, every now and then.  Generally if I am stressed and immediately after sex.
I'm worried it might be a sign of impending miscarriage again. I've looked all over this site in the Health Pages and search, but I haven't seen anything about cramps stronger than menstrual cramps at this early in pregnancy.  I have no bleeding, but with the last miscarriage, I didn't start bleeding until a few weeks after the pregnancy self-terminated.
Has anyone else had very strong cramps at this stage of pregnancy?  I appreciate any help, encouragement or advice someone can give.

Thank you, both!  I'll call the doctor.

I agree to avoid sex until further notice or the okay from your doctor as orgasms are contractions. They can't cause you to miscarry but anything to give your uterus a little break until things are confirmed as fine shouldn't hurt!

Good luck!

Cramping is pretty common during pregnancy and I know of women who have had menstrual-like cramps but Im not sure about anything stronger than that.  I would suggest you call your doctor to let them know first thing tomorrow and also dont have sex since cramping sometimes occurs afterwards.
