Lost a baby at 22 week (Cervix was a bit open), Next pregnancy when?

It was heartbroken last month when I had to deliver my baby at 22-week of pregnancy. That was my second pregnancy. My first one had no complications at all and my son is very healthy and he is a term baby. So this time when I got pregnant again, I didn't expect anything horrible like this. One morning, I felt there was something in my vigina and I thought it might be just discharge. But I could touch it! So I went to the hospital and there began my nightmare. I was told that my cervix was already open and since the sac was exposed, the risk of infection was very high. And it was a bit late to do a cervical clerviage (putting stiches to the cervix). The doctor suggested to improve the labour process and I delivered the baby on the first day of 22 week. Before I went to the hospital, there was no symtoms at all, no bleeding, no contractions, nothing! Doctors were in shock too! I even did US at 20th 21st week and I was told everything was fine! They didn't even think there might be a need to check my cervix as regular US can't give you infor. about cervix. We found a hard way to calm down and I am wondering when I can try to get pregnant again. Anyone had similar experiences? Please share some infor. with me. I really want to be pregnant again!

I lost my daughter at 18wks basically the same way you did but I was having contractions. I was told I could go ahead and try after 1 period. Which we did I lost my daughter in sept last year in nov we found out we were pg again but lost it a week later. Then in Dec got pg. again and again lost it. Then we had to wait until feb to try again b/c I had to have radiation and in april found out we were pg again I am now 31wks pg. but lots of problems with my cervix I have two other children and never had a problem with my cervix. Hoping to hold on to this one for another 4wks min. Good luck and I am so sorry for your lose if you need anyone to talk to I am here for you.

I am so very sorry for your loss...from my understanding you should wait 6 months to let you body recupe and im sure the longer you wait the better so this very sad thing dosnt happen again.

I am so sorry for your loss. I would think it would be safest to wait at least 3-6 months to ttc again. I'm not sure though did you ask your doctor?
