Water water water..............

With my last pregnancy I had trouble drinking water, and i thin kbc of that i had excessive swelling..... Well.... GUESS WHAT??? This whole summer ive been doing great with fuid intake.... i mean 3 16.9 oz water bottles, plus morning decaf..... and a drink at dinner.

Since ive become pregnant, i feel like i am literally forcing myself to drink again!!! Now i only drink one or two 16.9 oz water bottles. Plus the morn decaf, drink at dinnertime.... What can i do to convince myself to drink drink drink???? As i do NOT want to be swollen again. It was BAD last time.

I keep a water bottle next to my bed, in the car really anywhere and everywhere and I make myself drink a full glass of water before every meal and snack. That way I know I'm getting at least about 5 glasses per day. I also drink naturally flavored (no sugar or sweeteners) seltzer water which is carbonated and has as a yummy taste to it.

They make apps for the iPhone pregnancy apps for water intake reminder and snack reminders or you can set your watch to beep or phone to beep every few hours to remind you to drink a glass of water.

I link baby thoughts with drinking water too!  It seems like she likes it when I drink water because she always wiggles around a lot after I've drank a bunch.  Now I have no problem remembering to do it because it's so fun to feel her move when I do.  Plus, I think it makes her feel good too :)

doesnt crystal light have fake sugar in it? i would stay away from that. i would also go with the lemon/lime/orange slices in the water if youre looking for flavor. i know its tough, i drank plenty of water when i was pregnant, now that im breastfeeding and need to drink lots of water i find im barely drinking any at all and have to also force myself.

I was going to suggest maybe doing the crystal light route myself...LOL my DD doesnt drink too much water herself and I buy those crystal light singles, that you just pour into the bottle and shake, and she absolutely loves drinking that stuff....They also have the ones with less sugar and all that, and to me personally I think they taste the same..Good luck

As a bonus..if you are having a stomach issues, the ginger helps sooth your stomach.

I also recommend a slice of orange or lemon. And, I keep a jar of minced ginger in the fridge...I put a teaspoon of ginger in my water sometimes for something different.
This is making me thirsty! :)

I have trouble drinking water too. I've got a big plastic cup with a lid and straw that I think is 24 oz, I put ice in it and koolaid or lemonade, or something like that. It helps a lot to have something with taste...

Maybe I shouldn't suggest this because I don't want to make you unneccessarily worried about water consumption, but what worked for me to really start guzzling the water was researching the dangers of dehydration during pregnancy.  Once I was aware of all the bad things that could happen if I didn't drink enough it made me extra, EXTRA aware of that water bottle I'd previously been ignoring.  And yeah, those low calorie flavor packets work great too, I love them.

I just carried one with me no matter what I did. Driving, sleeping, sitting around, going on walks. If you don't like the taste, those things should make you want to drink it more often. (If you enjoy them anyways)

Just always carry something around with you. I know some people say they have difficulty drinking frequently enough. I personally never had this problem ( I LOVE water and can't get enough. It's also all I drink since I hate the taste of soda, coffee, tea and juices) but if you have it on hand all the time it might help you to remember to drink it more frequently.
