You cant trust EVERYTHING on the internet. If a doctor didnt say anything about it than you really dont have anything to worry about. Just because there are articles on the internet does not make them 100% trustworthy...who knows who truely posted that article...anyone can pretend to be a doctor on the internet
Yeah, just because someone does a study doesn't mean it's true. There is a BIG misconception that "scientific studies" even by reputable people are just "true". This is false. There are many studies which have other studies that conflict them. I'm not saying this is bogus, just saying dont decide you're a Dr and believe everything you read.
Gonna go fill the prescription for this pregnancy. Its hard to take care of a 2 year old when your sick 24/7.
I've taken zofran with now 3 pregnancies, not a one have I ever had a problem. I'm 12 weeks on my 3rd and it, reglan and venigerine (spelt completely wrong lol) are my life saves this pregnancy. my ob is one of the best in Ar and I'll trust his word over a few articles. I've even asked my pharmacist and they went to school studying the meds and he says it's perfectly fine. my sister n law and my sister also took it during their pregnancies and their kids turned out great, as did as both mine. I'm fact my 4 yr old daughter is very advanced for her age as is my 2 yr old. so I'll trust my Dr over a article or 2. :)
I think everything has risks but you must outweigh benefits vs risks. It is also dangerous to both mom and baby if they cannot get the nutrition and hydration needed. Its best to try natural remedies first, but if that fails I think medication is necessary.
I'll trust my doctor before some random Internet article
I took zofran for my molar pregnancy. I had bad morning sickness with the molar. I'm completely fine.
Also I find it really funny that the articles I read about also mention Diclegis and how it's the only Category A drug for morning sickness.... Well its also the only one without a generic. Van we say marketing scam?
Zofrannis a category B meaning that there are no human studies showing problems but some animal studies have shown problems. I have many friends who have taken it throughout their entire pregnancies and been fine. I myself have been taking it almost everyday for 8 weeks and no problems here.
I feel like everything has been linked to causing some issue during pregnancy. I lost 7lbs by 5 weeks preggo with my son zofran literally was a lifesaver. I also was on an antibiotic with my son that wasn't recommend for 34+ weeks. I still took it because its benefits outweighed the risk if my kidney infection had come back.
Ive been taking it since i was 4weeks im now 18weeks6days and my twins are perfectly fine. I also took it with my first pregnancyand she is a very smart 4yr old now:)
You And your friend are lucky then. :) I'm glad things worked out fine, but like I said, there is recent studies that proves it's not as safe as thought. I have been taking it for a few months, so I feel really betrayed that nobody mentioned this sooner.
I will be twelve weeks tomorrow, and because of my morning sickness I have lost 17 pounds so far. When I forget to take zofran it's back to the nausea and vomiting. The medicine has been a life saver simply for my mental stability let alone all the vomiting! I'm going to trust my doctors... this is the only study I've seen that says it's bad for pregnancy, and I have never heard anyone say they or their baby had adverse reactions to it.
I was on it my whole pregnancy as was my best friend. Never had issues with it.
I was taking it and I started cramping as well as dealing with constipation. So I stopped taking it right away.
Oh my gosh. I am so glad that I dont have to take the generic form anymore. That is really scary
