Weight obsessed?

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I've gained 18 pounds so far. My doctor called it "excessive" which bothered me. Now I'm thinking about it constantly and obsessing about it in a way. I don't want to gain too much weight.

How much weight had you gained at 27 weeks?

I gained 70lbs when I was pregnant. Don't worry about it.

Dont worry!! Doctors go by stupid guidelines-they speak before they think!!
Every pregnancy is different-as long as you feel healthy that is all that matters!

My first f/t pregnancy I gained 41lb!!! My second I gained 21lb-& my second daughter was heavier!!
I started off pre pregnancy as uk size 10 (I think US6)
I felt great in both so don't listen to your foolish doctor-they just spout words-ignore & be healthy!!

Enjoy your pregnancy!!

I am a couple of weeks behind you and have gained 10, but am larger to start with and consciously trying to avoid gaining too much (plus, I think I've lost quite an amount of muscle mass meaning my weight gain is really more). I think your doctor is being harsh, unless you have some medical history concern with weight problems and pregnancy. You will probably end up above 25 lbs total but the weight gain near the end is important since it's the major growth period for the baby (they go from only 1-2 lbs to 6-9+ in the third trimester). I know more women who have gained more than 25 lbs than less than 25 lbs (me during my first pregnancy included!)
