Weird Vaginal Discharge in Early Pregnancy...?

I found out I was pregnant on 4/30 (10 dpo).  I've had some issues with bleeding.. Light spotting starting a few days after my +HPT and then small amounts (a panty liner or less) of bright red bleeding on 5/4 and 5/7.  After two ultrasounds and 4 blood HCG tests, the doctor called me yesterday (5/14) to tell me that everything looks as though it is progressing normally.  It is very early (5-5.5 weeks), so all we could see on the ultrasound was a gestational sac with a yolk sac forming, but it was progressing (there was nothing at all on the u/s 8 days prior).

Anyway, on the days that I haven't had bleeding, more often than not I still have some unusual discharge.  There isn't a ton of it, but it's light brownish-tan in color, and sort of thick.  It has me a bit concerned, mostly because I'm afraid it is abnormal or a sign that the bright red bleeding will return.  Does anyone know if this is normal or should I be concerned?

Spotting can be normal for some people in Pregnancy and also a increase in discharge can be be normal.
I would not be too concerned if there is no pain accompanied by the bleeding and You otherwise feel fine. Your doctor does seem to be happy with the progress in the pregnancy.
I know easier said than done and You would be so stressed out worrying but try not to worry stress is not good for You or the baby. Try and rest and keep Your feet elevated if You're really worried.

Hello,

Sorry that you have been having some problems. It can be very scary when you see Blood when you know that you are pregnant.

There is an increase in discharge when a woman becomes pregnant. This is totally normal and will continue until birth.  Now, if the discharge is green. foul smeliing, or you have itching w/ it you would want to consult your OBGYN as this is a probable sign of some sort of infection.

I am thinking that the discharge you are describing is from "old" blood mixed in with normal discharge.. However if you ever have any concerns or something just doesn't feel right...then you should always call your OBGYN and let them know what is going on.

Good Luck,
