My mom waited until I got my period....it was sort of a celebration of womanhood, if you will, and I plan to do the same for my daughter. Also; a lot of sports won't allow your girl to play with earrings in. I played varsity sports all through middle and high school and had to take them out or tape them and it was a pain....so maybe wait and see if she's athletic? I dunno I like letting it be my daughter's choice, but that's just me, LOL. I also don't believe a girl should shave above mid-thigh until she's at least 12, so maybe I'm old-fashioned.
ooo... i LIKE that idea a lot. I might steal it :)
i think anytime you like, i've had my ears pierced since i was 4 months old.. dad said it was easier, because my sis had hers when she was 12, he said i forgot about the pain and he didnt have to worry about me playing with them, which came for no infections.. Its up to you really
I agree with Tired.
Earpiercing is a form of body modification can there can be risks associated with it. My daughter will be the one to decide it she wants her ears pierced.
i think it looks adorable and i want to do it but i dont know yet if i will or not....i have to have a daughter first i suppose lol ; ) i like the idea of doing it when their little so u can control the cleaning and so they dont mess with them but i also like the idea of them being able to choose weather or not they want their ears pierced. i got mine done in 4th grade for my 9th birthday. my mom asked me what i wanted for my birthday and i said i wanted my ears pierced so she said okay and we went to the mall and got them done...with my birth stones....i think just telling this story wants to make me wait just because i myself like the memory of when i went with my mom to get them done. i think id like my daughter to have an equally nice memory.
If I had a girl I would let them decide whether they want it done or not. I didn't get my done until I was 12 and my mother made sure I was old enough so I could take care of them myself.
