What is group b strep positive?

Why do woman test positive for this and how is it obtained in your body ? What causes it ? And why do thet test you for this ?

This is my second baby and they let me know i will just need antibiotics but this didnt occur with my babygirl my first. Odd but i read and it comes and goes my doctor said its an intestinal bacteria. Nothing bad.

From what I understand it has to do with the chemical makeup of vaginal and fecal discharge, and some women test positive and others don't if you do it's not a bad thing like an std of any kind. It just means you'll need antibiotics during your labor. It prevents baby from developing things like meningitis and pneumonia and other infections and i'm pretty sure if you need it for one baby they'll give it to you for all your deliveries just to be safe
