What meds to have on hand for newborn(Tylenol etc)?

People have recommended Mylicon gas drops.  That is what I bought.  I think I bought little noses, just to have on hand in case the baby gets a cold.

Tylenol is safe at any age as far as I know.  I have given it to my kids really early.  I have never had a doc tell me not to.  When they are really young, the dose is super small (like .3 ml. if I remember correctly).  There is a dropper in the bottle.  But unless the little one gets sick, I doubt you will have to give Tylenol for a while.  But still very good to keep on hand.  I have been told by my ped not to give baby Motrin until the baby is at least 6 months old.  Medicine wise, I think the Tylenol and gas drops are about it.  You can buy baby "emergency" kits.  It's like a first aid kit for infants and really neat.  You can get them from Target, Walmart, etc.  That should have everything you would need all in one buy.  Maybe ask your hubby about that??  Good luck :)

thermometer, suction bulb (but they should give that to you in the hospital), nail clippers, gas drops. You shouldn't use infant tylenol unless a doctor recommends it and even then I think the earliest is like 3 months.
