Whats everyones views on 12/2012?
I know what my views are and I am not trying to spark a religious debate about this but what is everyones view on 12/2012? JOYRENEE what do you think?
I just have to say that I was raised in a Baptist church and the end of days was always near...I dont think anyone knows when it will happen
No man knows when the end is near. The bible says it will come when we are least ready. Many people can claim to know the future, but only God knows 100 percent what will happen before it happens. I believe that it could be the end and if it is than I am ready. The only true way to know he answer is to seak Jesus in the situation.
I don't really believe it, but when the topic arises I do feel some nerves...like what will I have done by the end of my life? Will I be satisfied enough to be okay with dying because as of right now I am so afraid of death...soon enough I won't be. I tend to envy those who are okay with dying. But I also think that 2012 doesn't mean the end of man kind..but maybe a big change in the world we know. I agree with Gokuangel! The closer we get the more people will get nervous...watch out for the increase in basements being added to building plans! Sure there were some coincidences...but you remember the movie signs when mel gibson asked his brother if he was the kind of person that believed in Miracles or Coincidences? I am a bit of both...but I believe that most things are coincidences...maybe because I have experienced few miracles..
I am sure that everytime I hear of it I will get that nervous feeling, but just like always after a few minutes I won't be worrying about it. My vote is for could happen but I am not set on it happening in my life time! Maybe the next 2012!

I think its just another Media or Marketting bs that they decided to bring up to scare people and make money while at it. Snake Oil Salesman. People have their own interpretations of everything. The same with the bible, there's sooo many different christian beliefs and faiths because they all interpret the bible differently. Whatever happens, happens and there's nothing we can do about it. So why fret about it?

The only reason some people are so worried about it is because its an OLD prediction and since we can't ask any of those people wth they were thinking it makes it "real. How about people destroying the world ourselves because we can't get along?

I agree with you completely. My Dad was a preacher until a nasty divroce with a abusive woman, but he was in the siminary and he says NOT ONE PERSON Knows but the father himself and agian he is sick of people trying to play God and know... Personally I think it is going to be a long time in my great great grandkids or even longer life. I think the end of the world will happen when it's supposed to. And, if the date happens to be correct, then well that's when it'll happen... Nothing we can do if it really wants to come to an end. it's just something that's put a scare on many people. As for me, I honestly, dont care. Sounds weird. But, if/when I go... I'll be happy to go home :)

i think back in those times, they probably doubted the world would last as long as it did, and therefore, "stopped" their calenders-or they just made the calender,and kept going till they realized just HOW FAR away they were planning, and quit.....just because an ancient civilization who was once rich, and then FELL TO PERIL, predicted something, or messed up their calender or whatever, does NOT mean it's the end of the world.....cr*p, in my life, that's like saying since i don't plan a week in advance, my "world" will end when i'm done with this week's planning....or if i don't plan a menu for next week, that my family won't eat b/c i didn't write it down....
Y2K was hilarious.....my grandma and my mom's side of the family prepared....i mean PREPARED! me and my cousin's were like, omg wtf r u doing? computers shut down cos idiots don't know how to use them....man, i STILL make fun of my G'ma for that!!! she got a computer like last summer to help my G'pa run his business accounts, and i'm like g'ma what happens if another Y2K hits, and she get's all annoyed, and she's just like "that was a load of s**t, i don't believe in it anymore"....but then she'll start talking about it haha.....
i'd never heard of the actual date.....but then, i'd never heard about 9/11 either....to me, if you can't predict the EXACT chronological events, and show something that proves your "theory", have another drink, take another hit, and get off my TV screen!!! that, and people are reading SIMPLE prophecies WAYYY too in depth.....and as one woman said, all the homosexuality, wars, etc, have come, and they passed....they've BOTH been around FOREVER, but NOW it's a big deal?
idk, my MIL is a preacher, and i've NEVER heard her mention this stuff...if i called, and asked, she'd start laughing and say what the woman above said---that NO ONE but God knows what's going to happen.....and she'd say the same about someone having an abundance of wine, and paper, and tooooooo much time on their hands.....

i dont wanna believe it like others said they predicted it would end in 2000 and peeps went crazy and were still here but now this whole 2012 has come up my dh keeps telling me bout the weather and global warming stuff (half i dont understand lol) but when i think about our weather going all crazy it kinda makes me nervous so i am worried about it but at the same time i dont really see how the entire world will just stop and blow up one day!!

The Bible says no man knows the day or the hour the son of man cometh. It also talks about how to know the end is near. Wars, rumors of wars, men lovers of their own flesh more than lovers of God, it speaks against homosexuality,and how all these things will come to pass. In reality, all of this came to pass years ago. I feel that it won't be long until the end though. It is sad the state of the world today. I am not trying to open a big bad can of worms, but the bible says it, not me :)
I have never heard of 12/2012, but if you are a Bible-believing person, the Bible says that no one knows the day or the hour -- not even Jesus! But ONLY the Father knows. So, if someone says they know, it can't be true because the Bible says no one knows.
I think it's fascinating, though I'm not confident in non-Bibilical predictions like that. I do think it's a possibility that something huge will happen in years not too long away that will change our world as we know it. The Bible tells us that much is true.
But I agree with the poster who said they liked to trust that it's in God's capable hands. Worrying will accomplish nothing at all.
The only good that will come of thinking about the "end of the world" is that it makes us more grateful for what we have right now, treasure our relationships, and think more about eternity. I actually can't wait to go to Heaven! I think it's going to be so very much better than anything we experience here on earth, we can't even imagine!

I believe it....but I dont lol. Hubby and I are really into this kind of stuff, especially with the mayan calender and Nostradomas. History Channel is amazing lol. I just think it will happen reguardless of who says what and who says when. Yes there are a few things that have happened that were predicted....but then again, maybe he was talking about something totally different, and WE new age people are just putting it in terms that we A) want to believe B) are predicting ourselves. The new age people like us tend to think in more of a pessimistic way then the people back then, so you never know.
In my opinion....If Nostradomas really predicted 9/11, the he would have predicted that the president knew about it as well, something that was missed in his readings.

The end of the world will happen when it happens, and no one knows but God Himself. I like it that way. I can live my life with the thought that I will be long dead before it happens. If I'm not then that's the way it was meant to be.
I think that Nostradomas had some views, but like most we can't make the connections until it happens and then they just become coincidence. We make the connections because we are purposely looking for them.

I dont think it means the END of the world just maybe the end of it as we know it...guess theres only one way to find out.....
I personally dont like to think about stuff like that. I dont think pregnant ladies should star worrying about something like this. Its just not good for us.
It makes me nervous.. That is all I will say about that! Always has.. I remember my Dad referencing it when I was a kid and it seemed sooooooooo far away.. He was always referencing in jest....But still...

How many times have people "predicted" the end of the world and we're still here? Nah, don't buy it. I think some people just have tooooooo much time on their hands!
