It could have been that, because that time I took them both orally and vaginally and the next time I just did vaginally. The first time I had intense contractions, the second time not so much. If you can keep them down orally is try it.
@Kristy, they are to help soften your cervix which helps in dialation.
Orally? I never got contractions when I took them vaginally, do you think taking them orally had to do with the contractions?
You don't hear of taking evening primrose oil in pregnancy here in the UK, coukd I ask you ladies what the benefits are?
@mommy_again23: I did the first time I took one, the second time I didn't get them as bad but still got them!
I never took them orally out of fear of throwing up or bad headache. I just did them vaginally. So I think im going to wait until 36 again, but I don't have sex so it might take a little longer. Do you always get contractions when taking them?? I didn't last pregnancy.
I didn't start them until just recently and I am 38 weeks, I wanted to be past 36 weeks at least! Most people start to take them at 36 weeks though and do 2 orally and 1 vaginally daily. I have done two orally and one vaginally only once and I got sick, but had contractions, so now I only do one vaginally after sex, which is every other day, or every few days.
