What does the doctor do? And what time do I need to stop eating and drinking? He told me I could drink water but I can't remember what time and all that jazz...

Its a simple test, its a cold orange sweet juice that you have to finish within five minutes, after that you have to wait an hour before they take out some blood, you wont get the resulta right then and there but if anythings concerning im sure theyll give you a call. To make it easier for you just make sure you dont eat anything or drink anything besides water for at least 2 before

I had to fast just a couple hours before i had my test.
I went in they gave me the drink, i had to drink it in 5 minutes. Then i had to wait for an hour to get my blood drawn, i had my regular check up during that waiting period.

Mine is the 1 hour. As far as I know.

depends which one youre getting done, if its the 1hr or 3hr.

The  1hr they told me i could eat before, its better if you dont but it wasnt necessary for me to fast, they said it mightt increase my sugar a little but not too much. Anywho i went almost at noon and i had eaten breakfast like an hr or 2 before then and i went signed in, they made me drink a cold orange sweet juice and waited for an hr, then they took blood. I passed that with flying colors..

I know when it comes back concerning you have to take the 3 hr one and for that one i know for sure you cant eat anything at all until you take the juice and wait 3hrs after to take blood.

Not sure how they work at your hospital but thats what they do at mine, best of luck
