What does the lab test for in the urine each visit to the gynocologist which us called a drug screen

I am thankfull to you an your response.I asked my dr with our first pregnancy and that's what he said. I was just worried because nurse was telling me about the drug screen that the nurse was telling me about the price difference. In the lab charging me and my dr charging me

i really wouldnt smoke marijuana when your pregnant my gf sara just had her abby at 34 weeks on dece 24th because of smoking pot pre term labopur he came out very small and has lung issues...

They do not test ur urine for drugs. They test your urine to check if theres any sugar or protein in your urine. For diabetes and such. Just ask your doctor if your worried. But drugs no....

Getting nauseous even throwing up all day is better then what that can do to your baby. Dr can give you stonger stuff.

Tried prescriptions and they haven't helped even only drinking water I get sick thank you.

Yes you should if baby test positive for it the will call CPS. There are other ways to treat nausea with harming baby. Eat small meals, ginger ale, crackers, toast & even prescriptions if it's severe.

Well I have an only marihuana because it helped me with my nausiousness and my doctor didn't or hasn't mentioned it.

They've been testing for drugs. If you pop positive they most likely will keep testing you through out your pregnancy for said drugs, and like above said they test baby when he/she is born. If the baby pops positive then child services will take your baby away from you.

Since when do they test for drugs? I though it was to make sure u dont get a uti or other things. If so then that is great! That way if the mother is doing drugs they can know what to look for in baby. Cause dont know many people who would be honest when it comes to that.

Which drugs they test for depends on the lab some test for 5 common drugs while others test for up to 10 different drugs. My husband is a corrections officer & they use a test that test for 10 different things. Essentually it test for anything that's illegal. If you are concerned they are going to find drugs in your urine more than likely they will if they are there & once baby is born they test baby for drugs too.
