Xanax and Pregnancy

I use Xanax to travel. On Thursday I took a half a xanax to fly, then one on Friday and Saturday. I missed my period on Saturday and took an early pregnancy test (which came back positive) on Sunday and stopped taking Xanax (thus, I stopped at week 4, if I count the date of my last period). Will this harm my baby (actually I am having twins...)? I am currently 9 weeks into my pregnancy.

Okay, I talked to my OB and she said that she would not worry. One, I stopped immediately at 4 weeks. Two, I only had 2 1/2 pills in total over a three day span. Three, she mentioned that she has seen MANY people on far more medications than what I was taking. Four, I'm healthy and only took them for anxiety when flying. I feel better now that I talked to her. Obviously she said to stop taking them... period! for the remainder of the pregnancy and nursing. I hope this helps other people. I'll keep all posted on my progress!

I am fine without them. I just happen to travel a couple of days before I found out I was pregnant. I hadn't taken them prior to that weekend and haven't taken them since... I just really nervous now.

I am prescribed xanax and was told it is a no go during pregnancy. It shouldn't effect you since you are still so early into your pregnancy and didn't know but speak to your doctor as well since they may either say it is ok for you to take them or give you more info.

It shouldn't. But only your ob can give you more info.
