Yeast Infection?

Hi ladies!! To start off, this is my first post. I am 21 years old and I am not pregnant. I am on the Apri birth control. Just recently my well lady parts (lol) have been itchy and just painful because of a yeast infection. Usually I take one dose of the monistat and it goes away by the next day or two days. My mom had some in the cabinet and I used about half a dose of that and rubbed some on the outside and it was very uncomfortable but the box warned it would cause more irritation and etc.

Anyways, today at work I went to pee and I noticed some bright red blood on my panty liner. I have not missed any pills this month so I was very unsure of what this was. I never spot unless I miss a pill and it's brown or pink if I do.

My question is..... Could this have been caused by the ministat and the yeast infection? I'v never experienced this before!! On a side note, I just checked the box and it says use by Jan 2010. Is that bad? I only did half a dose!! Thanks for the input!!

I doubt pregnancy but there is always a possibility if you are having sex. Thanks ladies!!

Thanks angela! I think I might call my ob gyn tomorrow to ask!

@Gouda07 - It's part of a disposable pack so everything is wrapped individually so no spreading germs or anything!! Thank you for your concern though!! :) It's feeling a little bit better today!

I'd go to the doctor to get it Checked out and antibiotics for the yeast infection. Also you shouldn't use your moms med, especially a vaginal topical cream as that can spread infection as well. Hope you get everything figures out soon! Good luck :)

I have not personally had bleeding w/ yeast infections and I think if I were you, I'd get checked out by a doctor.  Usually with medicine, the date refers to how long it stays potent - I doubt it'll hurt you, just won't help you any if the active ingredients have expired - at least that is what I have been told.  I hope everything turns out OK!
