They test a yeast infection with a swab they insert into your vagina & your done. If tests come bacj abnormal, they'll treat u for whatever strain it is. If u think u have one, do not use otc medications, call your ob & tell them u have a yeast infection. They may call you in to make sure or go ahead and Send you a prescription that's safe to take for how many weeks you are.
I've had one for about two weeks now. The first time I went to the doctor for it she prescribed me some cream based solely off of my symptoms. When it didn't go away after seven days I had to go back to the doctor. She did a smear and exam... even without getting the results she knew it was a yeast infection. I'm on the same treatment plan as I was the first time, so I really hope it clears up. It's stressful and I had no clue this kind of thing happens because of pregnancy. By the way when I was itching and burning really bad I would use ice packs over my shorts which helped me.
the only times I was ever diagnosed with a yeast infection was either by a pap smear or my doctor would just simply go by my symptoms..
They do not test for a yeast infection. You prob have one. Just get the meds. It's fine to take.
Im not sure if they use a urine test for that, I have never had a urine test for that. Normally they do a swab or they can diagnose it from symptoms. Give them a call and let them know whats going on so they can give you some relief!
