alcohol and breastfeeding?

How long does alcohol take to come out ur system to start breastfeedin again? Iv got a family weddin in a few weeks and would really love a few drinks. Im goin to express so tht my mum can feed my little boy whilst im away. Al leav formula just incase cos iv never left him bfor. And hes breastfed only. So i was wonderin if i had a few drinks wen can i feed him again?x

am the same, I very rarely drink, even before I was pregnant lol.   One bottle of Magners does me a couple hours easy lol x

Iv got the health visitor on tuesday so al double check with her. Im not a big drinker just would like a few wen at the weddin.x

I'm sure my Midwife said 12 hours after your last drink, not that I drink really, only at Weddings or special birthday parties etc, but we were talking about it in our ante natal class x

I thot a week was a tad extreme lol. That great now i can hav a wee drink not had one in almost a year so one glass and al b steamin ha cheap night. Thanks girls. x

My sis n law said 24 hrs after ur last drink & u should pump & dump in those 24 hrs but I would buy those test strips

Yep about two hours per drink. Pump and dump. Plus they sell test strips at babies r us if you want to try that.

It's def not a week. It's a few hours per drink. They told me 2 drinks is fine but 2 hours after that per drink

you should pump a lot so that he doesn't have to drink formula if he's been drinking breast milk. but I think a week. so pump a great deal and also check with a Dr
