Two pregnancy questions - weight and bathroom

I have two questions I was hoping to get some help/advice on.
I'm 33 weeks and 2 days today.
First, I was at my midwife appointment today and I found out that I had gained 7lbs in two weeks!!! I was so shocked. I had a little freak out in the office haha. She didn't seem too concerned about it and said that sometimes it just happens. My diabetes test was normal. It just doesnt feel too normal to me, that seems like alot! I didn't do anything different this week than the others. My last two appointments that were also 2 weeks apart, I gained 3lbs at each. I'm pretty positive I'm going to be a whale by the time this pregnancy is over lol. Have any of you ladies experienced something like this?? Why would I  have gained so much in such a little time?

Second, I think I'm spenidng my whole day in the bathroom. I feel like I'm always peeing! I mean I know having to pee alot is part of it, but over the past week it seems like thats where I'm spending my whole day. Yesterday I was downstairs and I went pee then I walked upstairs and had to go again! It seems that anytime I stand up or walk around it feels like I  have to pee! Sometimes I dont even have to go that much. Its just feeling a little excessive and I dont want to spend the next 7 weeks going to the bathroom everytime I stand up or walk somewhere, I'll never get anything done! haha. Any advice? Anyone else feeling like this?

Unfortunately during the last 2 months your are going to have to pee a lot more because the baby is getting so big and pressing on your bladder.  I felt I had to go all the time the last 2 months of my pregnancies.  You may also have a UTI, a simple urine test will tell you if thats the case.  And as far as gaining weight, if you midwife isnt concerned I wouldnt be either.  I gained a lot of extra weight towards the end because I was retaining a lot of fluid and swelling.  That may be the case with you as well.  After I had my son I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks but I was retaining a lot of fluid so it left quick. Anyway, hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I wouldn't be worried about the weight. I put on 8 pounds in two weeks and they weren't worried. The baby is putting on a lot of weight from this point on and among other things you will too. Unless your doctor is worried, you shouldn't be either. As for the bathroom, I know what you mean. But it only seems to get worse. I'm going at least every 20 minutes. (no infection either) have them check to see if you might have one. If you don't, you know it's just from the baby.

I had a month where I gained 10 pounds and like you was shocked my Dr. told me there is usually 1 month in pregnancy where the mom gains quite a bit and then it levels back out. I wouldnt be worried unless your Dr. is. As for the peeing....its not going to get any better until the baby is out! I once actually thought I should just pee my pants...I was driving home at the time. It hurt so bad! Then when I got home it was like a teaspoon of pee! I told my dh I should have just peed my pants, he said ya but then it would have been alot. Murphys law.

Haha thanks ladies! I had a feeling it was normal, it was just one of those things that I thought I would ask since it seemed like so much weight in such a little time. And I also figured the peeing thing was normal too, just one of the not so great pregnancy symptoms haha. I got urine taken at my appointment yesterday to check for bacteria and stuff so I'm pretty sure she will tell me if I have an infection or something.
Thanks for the help :)

I know how you feel, though its worse with me. I gained 14 lbs in one month, got banned from drinking juice because I was gaining so much, then the next month I thought I was doing real well, and all of a sudden I gained another 10 lbs overnight, and a few days later another four! Of course that was just before my next OB appointment too lol..
I'm having real bad water retention as well, I have stretch marks all over my legs from it :/ Hopefully since it is a  water retention problem, we will lose our weight fast when we have our lil ones.
