8 weeks pregnant, 2m/c 's ...blighted ovum?

I had my 3rd sono last week and was told I could possibly have a blighted ovum at 7 weeks. The md suggested a d&c. I decided on waiting until about 10 weeks to do another sono. My husband and I are devasted, and are hoping to see a heartbeat and fetus soon! My md said he is not sure if there is a fetus but my yolk sac is too large. He also said it went from 6.9 to 6.2mm. I still feel pregnant, no bleeding/ cramping. I am going to do an 3d ultrasound and get a second opinion in 2 weeks. My question is if a blighted ovum, when I should to expect to miscarry normally?

@Custom877... Do not let them pressure you into it. Get them to run your hcg, take another ultrasound.! If the fight is worth it, fight! I want you to be pregnant just as I am. Not to have my sever morning sickness, but hey it let's you know your baby is still there. Thanks for the luck, because I need it! Just do what you feel is right!

Well yesterday, I went to a perinatalist and hi risk pregnancy clinic. I saw a yolk sac that measured 9mm, still no baby. But I will fight this one out! They said to get a dnc tomorrow at 10 weeks because after that they said it's a bigger procedure. Is that true? Or is that they are pushing me? They also said I can get the pill to abort the pregnancy. But my gut says wait. On another note my breasts are not as tender as before, and starting not to feel pregnant anymore. Today I had alot of white milky discharge. I read that is quite normal at 10 weeks...dunno. So confused. Thanks everybody for your concerns and I will keep you guys posted. @ RissaRissaRoo good luck Hun!

Do not fret. I am 12w5dys and was first diagnosed with a blighted ovum. I was terrified, so I rushed to the ER. They ran my hcg levels and I had levels of almost 50,000. I later had every nurse saying oh yeah that is bad. You do not have a baby. You need to get that taken care of. My doctor offered me another ultrasound and the tech found my iddy birth baby as soon as she placed it on my tummy. I pray that the same thing is just happening to you. I pray they find your iddy birth baby.!

i had a blighted ovum at 7.5 weeks. yes you will miscarry normal and will probably see an empty sack.  i agree and wait on the d&c. get at least 1 more ultrasound (just in case!) and i would try to miscarry on your own if you can. sorry for whta youre going through.

Hi,

i think your right in waiting for another sonogram to see what has happened. If it is a blighted ovum then it could take not time at all to start miscarrying, or a few weeks...there have been some ladies on here who didn't miscarry though at all and ended up with d&c's.
i was told my 4th pregnancy was a blighted ovum (i lost the 3 pregnancies before that) the gest scan was measuring larger than my dates and was an irregular shape. i waited a week for a re-scan and my babys hb was detected. i was 6 weeks at the time. my dd is 6 now and if i listened to the hospital pushing for me to have a d&c they would have aborted a viable pregnancy!
Best wishes to you and good luck!
