So I'm due December 27th and i cannot find a female ob that is avalible. It's my first pregnancy and i dont really want a male doctor... is it weird with a guy doc?

Its weird cause i got pregnant before i ever needed a routine wellness check so ive never been examined and im freaking out.

Don't settle for a Dr that you don't like. I Did this pregnancy, and tried to switch later on and was told no by drs. Then me and my Dr got in an argument and had to switch, with it still being too late. I ended up getting a midwife,.without even really knowing what they were. And I'm very happy now with 3 weeks to go. And they are female. I googled "apple valley midwife" and their it was google your town

well you can change obs if you dont like the one you chose
so i guess just get one you think would be good for you
do a lil research about them
and go for it

I have a male ob and he has no bedside manner and I LOVE it. I saw him yesterday and asked why I haven't gained much weight and he said 'its because you're fat already' he wasn't being rude, he's just like sheldon from big bang theory he talks straight and doesn't sugar coat anything, which is what I need in a doctor. I've only ever had one woman doctor in my life, and the only thing I remember from her was that I was never comfortable enough to let her to do a vaginal examination on me. But with my gp and ob I practically rip my pants off before I even get in the room. I don't think you should out much emphasis on the gender of the doctor, you should spend more time determining if it's someone you can get a long with and you can trust.

Omg not weird at all! Where i live we go to a mat clinic and every appoingment see a different doc. And when it comes down to having the baby the nurses do it all. What ever doctor happens to be working there comes just to catch the baby and their gone. I wojld be happy if i even got to pick! So no definitely not weird at all!

Yeah my female OB was always like suck it up buttercup! If I was sore or anything because "when I was preganant I worked AND did this AND did that and NEVER complained about aches and pains!" I was like B I t c h you are old as a pterodactyl and you probably don't even have kids!

Its not really weird actually. I could never find an female Dr. And you may be nervous your first visit but get warmed up and accustomed to the routine rather quickly. I was 16 with my first and didn't want some old guy checking out my parts lol. But after a few visits I wasn't uncomfortable and my Dr made sure I wasn't by being professional. So its really okay. I think male or female when your on a table with your legs all spread its going to be weird at first lol

I prefer male obs!
Ive had two female and their so rude and careless

Since Ive gone to the Gyno at age 15 Im kinda of use to it to have my male ob. I thought I would give it a change see if females Id feel more relax but NAAH, theyre so rude! ANd rough and just see you for like five seconds and they want you out the room.

BUt its up to you:) I would recommend you Male Ob. Theyre soo much more helpful!

Not weird. I had a female doc with my first and she was a beyoootch and my doc with my second was super nice. He had delivered his own babies and was so experienced and had great bedside manner the only thing I disliked was that he tried to push an epidural on me and I kept refusing it lil but he rocked
