I fainted this morning! Help!!

I am 17 weeks pregnant and got out of bed this morning and went in my daughter's room.  We were playing in her room for a little bit and when I went to stand up my stomach felt 'out of place'...hard to describe...but like my uterus needed to fall back into place?!?!  I laid down in my daughter's bed for about 10 minutes to try to feel better.  She went downstairs and I thought I should probably go check on her so I got up and felt light headed.  I grabbed the door frame and the next thing I know I'm laying in the hallway with rug burn on my knee, elbow and forehead.  (ouch)  I went downstairs and laid on the couch for a little bit.  The next time I got up I had to grab the kitchen counter because I felt light headed AGAIN!  What is the deal?!?!?!

Do I need to call my doctor??  The office isn't open yet.  I am feeling OK now (granted I haven't been up off the couch since all this).  Other than feeling unusually cold and tired...I'm fine.  Advice??

With the heat it's VERY easy to get dehydrated. Definitely drink water and ditch the pop, coffee, tea and juice (at least for now).

My sister passed out in public because all she drank was pop when she was pregnant.

Glad everything is ok - with something like this it always pays to check w/ your doctor.

I fainted in the 1st trimester and was told to make sure I was drinking about 60 oz water a day and to eat something with protein if I felt that way again - peanut butter was suggested.

I haven't been getting my email notifications for your responses! Glad I came on here to check!  I paged my doctor and he called back and said it's normal.  Just to drink lots of water and rest.  Since I did not land ON my stomach and I feel better now, he didn't feel the need to see me...just to take it easy.  Let's hope this doesn't happen again!!!  That was scary!  Especially since I was home alone with my daughter!  My husband teaches driver's ed and after I text him what happened he had the kids drive to the house so he could check on me!  LOL!  I felt funny having high school students sitting in my driveway!  Sweet of him to rush home though.  :)

Absolutely call your doctor especially since you actually fell.

Fainting is common during pregnancy and can be caused by many things such as low blood pressure, dehydration, lack of protein etc. but less benign things can cause it too and its important to let your doctor know so they can run a few tests it they feel it appropriate based on your medical history.
