Ok I'm confused..so I took a home pregnancy test at home, and it was positive..go get check at my doctors office still positive. Then I was spotting go to the er. They say everything is ok. Next day still spotting and cramping big time,go to the er and tell me that my blood levels are decreasing and had a miscarriage... ok my doctor didn't want to remove the fetus since HE wasn't postive of the "miscarriage".. he does test once aweek to see if he sees a growing baby and nothing..finally he does and turns out that I'm pregnant...I'm now 23 weeks pregnant but was wondering why did my blood levels go down.what mmade them think miscarriage. How could I go from miscarriage to 5 months pregnant just like that...please help I need to clear this

Hey...
This has happened to my step mum every pregnancy and she has been pregnant 6 times... they were all meant to be twins, She lost every single twin... and the other one has been fine, and she has given me 5 annoying brothers and one annoying sister, God help me if they were all twins haha! :)

Lab errors happen, Vanishing Twin or it was the normal level drop closer to the end of your first trimester (at some point your levels do decrease naturally).

And seriously that is one amazing doctor! They are so quick to write bleeding and decreasing levels as miscarriage and I always strongly encourage women to wait it out because you just never know. Congrats!

The only thing that I can think of is there was a lab error because as far as I know the only reason your blood count should drop is when you have lost the baby.

I do have a question though did they even do a first test to have something to compare the numbers with to be able to say that they were dropping in the ER?

I really couldn't tell you for certain. Maybe you were pregnant with twins and lost one baby?
