Hi my names lexi. Last night I went to the e.r. for abdominal pains. Found out I'm 4 wks pregnant. They told me along with it I had an ovarian cyst and on top of that I started my menstrual cycle. They told me its a sign of " threatened miscarriages" and said that I had a 50/50 chance if I completely stopped bleeding. The bleeding isn't very heavy its rather light but I am having biggish clots like u would on a normal menstrual cycle. I'm so worried I'm miscarriaging. I have friends and family that said they had the same, an my mom had it with my brother an i was also told that since i have a clotting disorder and iron anemia it could be those doing it..is that true? Also they abdominal pain isnt every bad or all the time and they said my cervix is closed that's good right? Can someone please give me a straight answer to this.

Alright guys thank you I'm just really worried the bleeding has slowed down a good bit but like I woke up this morning with sore ribs? Is that a bad sign? I keep asking my mom these things and all she said was that it could be from bed rest?

Don't stress hun take it very easy relax and keep ur feet up drink plenty of water and continue to take your prenatals.

I literally had the same thing happen with this pregnancy, they called it a threatened miscarriage and put me on bed rest for three days. They did blood work and said that my HCG levels rose 50% in less than 24 hours, and that I could've been carrying multiples and was passing one of the two babies. Then when they called me about my urine test they said I had an infection that was "agitating" my uterus which was causing the cramps and bleeding but it won't affect me or the baby. They gave me medicine just about a week ago for it, but the bleeding stopped the next day. Now I'm 14 weeks and carrying a healthy baby so far, so keep your head up and try and rest!

That truly is a hard one. It's sounding like a spontaneous abortion but having a clotting problem can cause you to bleed way to much. Were you put on meds for that im hoping? The only thing you can do is wait 48hrs to see if any change.
