I took antibiotics awhile back for an upper respiratory infection, and baby is still doing well, highly active and everything. I know it's hard, but I do think the doctor wouldn't give you anything that was dangerous for the baby.

Uti's can cause cramping and contractions as it irritates the uterus. The antibiotics are necessary! I'm sorry about the tonsils,  my husband went through that at 33 and it was miserable. I can't imagine it during pregnancy, I sure hope you feel better. Merry Christmas, and God bless.

I've just had a similar situation and been prescribed the same following a week of cramps. I've started taking it straight away as I had pretty much stopped eating and sleeping due to the pain, which can't have helped baby at all!

A UTI is nothing to play around with. Left untreated it can travel to the kidneys and cause a kidney infection that can be dangerous to both you and your child. Amoxicillin is one of the most widely prescribed antibiotics during pregnancy and has not been shown to cause any harm to a human fetus. Take the medication to clear up the infection, the last thing you want is for it to get worse.

The doctors wouldnt prescribe it if it isnt needed...you have to stay healthy for you and the baby, if the dr knows your preg they wont precb something that was dangerous.... Hope you feel better soon
