My anxiety was really bad at one point. I went to the hospital almost everyday thinking I was having a heart attack or stoke it was awful. my doctor, psychiatrist, and my ob said that I have a greater chance if the baby being hurt by the anxiety than by the medicine.

Im not sure which dr u seen that put u on prozac. But. If it was not ur obgyn ask him.   He can get u something that would be safer for the baby.   If it was ur obgyn then i would trust his word.

Hi! I'm a nurse and by no means a Dr but just want to add that Vitamin D and extra frolic acid help with depression also. We also refer people to yoga for depression but would check with your Dr before since exercise should be in moderation while pregnant. Alot of antidepressant medication can be dangerous to a fetus but so is a depressed momma so weigh your options and def research the drug more if your not comfortable. Best wishes!

The stress acvs depression hurts the baby more than the medicine. Ask your doctor for a lower dose than you were on before the pregnancy and take extra folic acid. The folic acid helps not only the baby but your mood too. I'm bipolar and 14w pregnant, I am on the lowest dose of lexapro and the lowest dose of seroquel and I am doing great :) there are a few risk but they are very rate and usually occur if you are on multiply meds. If you were taking xanax or clonophin for anxiety do not take them while pregnant other than that you should be fine. Congrats on the pregnancy and good luck :)

Every doctor will have a different opinion. I would just listen to your doctor, but if you don't feel comfortable taking them, ask him to prescribe you something different you are comfortable taking.

I would trust my doctor but if you feel uneasy about taking the meds then don't. Try yoga or meditation when you feel overwhelmed.
I see commercials all the time about the side effects that anti-depressants can have on a fetus. But if your doctor prescribed them then he did it with both your health and your babies in mind. Best of luck to you
