anxious isnt the word!!

i found out i was pregnant 16th dec, it took my docters 2 months to refer me to the hospital, as of now i should be approx 15 weeks pregnant next wednesday.
i have had no midwife advice, no scan, no blood tests or any antenatal care! :( i have my 1st midwife appointment 28th feb and on that date i will get booked in for a later scan, so im looking around mid march (poss 18-19 weeks pregnant) by the time i get my dating scan. im beyond anxious as this is my first pregnancy and allsorts run through your mind, i would be absolutely devastated if i get to this scan and find that my baby hasnt survived! i know i shouldnt think like that but sometimes its hard not too! i just feel so let down, i dont even feel pregnant anymore! :(

when i did the hpt test i saw my gp the same day who confirmed the pregnancy, with the nhs the gp then has to refer you to the hospital for antenatal care but my gp took 2 months to do that...you cant book your own midwife appointment, once you have been referred the midwifes then contact you with a date (28th feb finally) on that day il then get booked in for a later scan...yes the nhs is free (technically not...i pay contributions every month by law out of my salary) but it is shoddy!

i could make something up but im not a very good liar lol i that would be taking up the drs time when somebody else might actually have an emergency

How come you haven't been seen by a midwife???
You should have made an appointment through your doctors when you found out you where pregnant she could have atleast listened to the heartbeat and requested a scan there?

But anyway hope your baby is ok?  What about making something up like I dunno any kinda excuse to go to the triage at your hospital so they can put you on a monitor or something

i know thatm my sister only had 1 scan through her pregnancy but its more the lack of other antenatal care thats frustrating too, as i said before i dont even know if my baby has survived...i can see 1 benefit though....when i do eventually get the scan il hopefully be far enough along for them to tell me if im carrying a wee boy or wee girl :)

i do apreciate your comments though, there are reassuring xx

I only had 2 scans thru my pregnancy--1 about 18 weeks and a second one about 3 weekd later (because they couldn't see the cord). Having or not having having a scan has no bearing on the outcome of ur pregnancy.

well this is on the nhs and i can only pay for a scan privately which is too expensive, and the private scans dont give me any advice on how far along, or any information about baby. just 4d scans i could pay for, nhs wont let me pay :(
