asthma

I went to the ER the other night and found out that my asthma (which had been clear for a few years) came back thanks to an infection i got from someone  used to work with. We cant afford to get the inhaler i was prescribed. When i have an attack, it takes me a few minutes to be able catch my breath and that is usually when i start to feel like i am about to pass out. My attacks start with a slight cough that gets worse and i usually end up vomitting (tmi, sorry) and also get chest pain from the coughing. Knowing this, is there anything i can do or use when i get an attack that might make it a little easier for me to get through these? Thanks in advance for your advice

Yeah, I normally run a fan in the bathroom so it doesn't feel as bad. I've been caught so many times without my inhaler and have to use these different techniques.

We dont have coffee :/ i know my brother used to drink a tea from the leaves of a wild plant and that seemed to help him, but i would have to make a call to get the leaves and then wait a week for them to get here :/ thank you so much ladies! I am making a list of the things y'all are suggesting

A hot cup of coffee might help also that's what I've always done when I've had issues

Or run a shower on hot, close the door and sit in the bathroom (not under the water) and breathe.  Works best in a small bathroom. And then also, breathing cool air from the freezer (or night air if it's chilly where you are) can help too.

I think you boil water or run hot water in the stink and breathe it in. I think its supposed to help you breathe.
I remember my teacher telling me she did that when she was younger and didn't have her inhaler
