Contractions

I am 18 weeks along, I started feeling contractions last night I was told I could not go into Labor and Delivery ER until 20 weeks I went to the regular ER and they never took me back, is having contractions this early normal, and now I just feel cramping in my left side

Yes I have been drinking a lot of water they think maybe its because I am dehydrated I could be going into pre term labor, I will try another hospital this time

I would go back to the ER ......labor that early is not okay

I know this sounds trivial but have you been drinking enough water.... im 19 weeks n two weeks ago i had so much pain i couldn't walk my OB told me to just drink water and rest and see if i felt the same in 4 hours cause i just might be dehydrated and it worked

They told me they where indeed contractions, I felt my stomach get really tight from the top of my stomach all the way down into my abdomen they told me to go back to the ER but they don't do anything but keep me in the waiting room my on call nurse said I could be going into pre term labor

Well, the problem is that Braxton Hicks contractions and regular contractions feel really similar. It sounds like you only had Braxton Hicks, especially if the ER staff did not admit you. I don't know if this is your first pregnancy or not, but they may not be contractions at all. Contractions are a WHOLE different ballpark than any other pain you've ever experienced. Not only because of the pain level, but because of the way your body reacts. If they were contractions, your whole belly would tense up like a hard rock during the height of one. Then it would release at the end. Cramping on your left side may be ligament pain, or possibly even a kidney stone (I had two while I was pregnant, and round ligament pain the whole time). Speak about this with your midwife or OB and they can put a fetal monitor around you to check for contractions or fetal movement.
