It's easy just get the doctor to write down all the restrictions omif theydon't the doctor will put you on rest then you can collect unemploymentand they don't want it happenwith my first

My sisterin law was a cna and worked all the way up to her due date and has a healthy happy boy! She still lifted as well, your ob should let you know that if you are used to lifting like that on a daily basis that its fine to keep lifting.

With both of my pregnancy I worked the whole time as a cna. It is a very tough job. In the facility that I work in they have had girls have Dr notes saying they can't lift over a certain weight and they have told them that they can't accommodate them on there restrictions. Dr notes don't mean crap to them.

Everyone says they can't do that but they do anyways. And I have worked there for about 5 years ans it has happened many times.

I worked full-time as a CNA when I was pregnant with my son on an advanced dementia unit of a LTC facility. I didn't stop working until I was 38 weeks and my midwives made me stop - they were worried about how much my ankles were swelling because of so much time on my feet even though my blood pressure was still just fine. I made sure to get help when I could with residents who were aggressive but I did get hit in the belly a couple times, nothing serious though. It was hard on my back but if you're strong enough to handle it when you're not pregnant then you're strong enough to do it pregnant.

Im 20 weeks and I stopped working at 6 weeks because I had complications. I was taken off bed rest at 18 weeks and they told me no lifting over 25 pounds even though im not having complications anymore. Even if they didnt tell me that I wouldnt be working anyways, what if a patient fell and I caught them or something? I also had one very violent patient and I would be to afraid of her hitting me during my pregnancy!

@fangeorgetevin it really is back breaking work! I worked in a facility and it is constant heavy lifting! Most facilities break a lot of laws and over work you like crazy. I had 20-35 patients to care for by myself every shift and if someone called out I had even more. I did home care for a while working for a company and the work is a lot more relaxed and you dont have a boss breathing down your throat. But patients and their families will abuse you. I cant even begin to tell you the crap they did to me or made me do for them! If you want to be a cna you need a strong back bone and a really tough personality because you get crap thrown your way allllll day long! And the pay starts at 9 $ an hour here in Florida.
