Kind of TMI

My husband and I haven't really had much sex this pregnancy like we did with our first and its mostly because I haven't been in the mood. I am 37 weeks today and a couple days ago we tried and as soon as he entered me I was in horrible pain. Like it felt like my first time all over again. Is this normal? I am having a boy this time if that makes any difference. This pregnancy has been completely different from my first with a little girl. We haven't tried anything again because I don't want to chance anything and hurt myself or baby. There is no sense in that. I can definitely go without rather than being in pain. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No, I believe it's normal. I'm 31+4 and hubby and I still try to have sex when possible (though not nearly as much as we used to). Lately though I have horrible pain and pressure and it feels like I have huge cysts on my ovaries that are about to rupture. I asked my doctor And he assures me that it's normal to have pain during intercourse this far along. In just ready to be back to my normal self again!!!

Yes its normal and no it has nothing to do with it being a boy. Youre so swollen down there from the increase in blood flow concentrated there to prepare for birth that it can be very painful to have sex.
