I used to do this to my baby when he couldn't. Poop iI used to put babyoilbaby oil on a cotton swab and inserted in his butthole just the tip and right away he will poop
Im not sure if 8 days is old enough but put karo syrup in the bottle but ask your doctor first even of people on here swear by it ask your doctor to be safe
Never insert soap into the rectum! Especially in a newborn its very dangerous. And suppositories can only be used in a baby that age if directed by your physician
A newborn should be going everyday, if not then they are not taking in enough to produce waste.
So when my little baby brother couldnt poop my mom would buy like medicine and you insert it in the baby's butthole and it makes them poop quick if you cant buy any grab a little piece of bar of soap just a little bit and you insert it in the butthole and it would make them poop too. It works trust me.
My doctor said its normal if they go a day or two with out pooping seeing there body is still regulating but anything after 2 u should call your doctor its no book saying you or a baby should poop everyday so don't be alarm if she isn't showing signs of discomfort or pains don't be alarmed
Are you breast feeding or bottle feeding? She should be going at least once a day at her age, if you are breast feeding the most common reason is baby isn't getting enough and it may be necessary to supplement. After one month of age though breast fed babies might only go once every 3-5 days and formula fed babies once every day to every 3 days.
If she pooped today then she is fine. Sometimes they just don't go. When it becomes more than a.day or two then call her doctor. But baby will let you know if she is constipated. She will cry from being uncomfortable.
Do you mean pooped? Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding?
If you're bottle feeding this is very common - formula is harder to digest than breast milk. A breast fed baby will have a bowel movement a couple times a day usually. A bottle fed baby will have a bowel movement MUCH less often.
In general, does your baby seem satisfied with feeding? (that is, she drifts off to sleep after a feeding?)
