Study: Induction=Autism

Did you ladies read about the recent study on being induced?  Studies are showing out of 10,000 women that were induced over the last few years 99% of them had autistic children. What do yall think about that?

I completely agree baby2014. part of the reason I BF'ed my daughter.. I'm so worried about what's REALLY in formula. Or fast food, or veggies you buy at a store, anything now a days. It's scary.

I work with disabled children and I know plenty of mothers with autistic kids. I have never heard that. So wrong

I dont even see a correlation to induction and autism, personally. The numbers of autistic children has risen over the years but im guessing its from a different cause.

I was induced with my daughter she's 2 years and a half and there is nothing wrong with her and I got the epidural

Yes that is true i studied in ddk (developmentally delayed kindergarten) autism usually comes in the form of having social issues.... Being able to express themselves and social interaction but they are so smart... A lot are smarter than the "normal" children.

I don't understand why people keep saying their children are smart. Yes we know our normal children are smart but did you know that children with autism most of the time are geniuses? I know you don't mean to sound like your calling children with autism dumb. But with the words my kid don't have autism he's smart makes it sound that way. Anyhow studies have shown autism is a genetic disorder. There are probably a lot of things that cause these genetic disorders such as the junk food companies put in our food and the way they change the genetics in our veggies and fruits. Fake sugar and all sorts of things. When you mess with the environment all sorts of things start changing. A long time ago before nature started being destroyed people were more on what we call the normal side have started changing also. It's crazy we brush our teeth with fluoride a poison. It is a number of things of why genetics are changing and going down hill and I blame it mostly on how humans always want to make things different like pumping our food with hormones vaccines dewormer and what every else. You are what you eat drink and breathe oh and whatever shot you put in your body.

I was induced and my child has no signs of autism.

My mom wasn't induced and my little sister has it..... but she had her at 30

I dont think if that was true that so many women would be induced. I was induced with my son and he's at a first grader's school level and he is only in preschool right now (4years old). He can write, spell, read, even do basic math problems so he is very smart. I don't believe those studies are correct.

It's also said that some of the red dyes in foods and vitamins and stuff can cause autisim.. definitely something that shouldn't be put out in the public until it is well known and 100%.

I was induced and my 4 year old son IS autistic. It was not from being induced. That's a very sensitive subject to some people, myself included. People are trying to find the "cause" of autism, but after years and years of trying, no one has found out why it happens to certain children. Sorry if I sound rude, I don't mean to be. I just really don't think this post should be on here..Women are scared enough to get induced. This false information might just push someone over the edge.

There is a study relating induction to autism, but the numbers are not 99%. Also, as a science/statistics minded person I would ask anyone who reads the little "scare tactic" yahoo stories about all these horrible pregnancy donts to take it with a grain of salt. Without the actual study there is no way for you to know if the results actually meant anything, or if the sample size was too small. Yahoo news (and many others) is really bad for just sensationalizing studies without really looking at why those were the results.

Yeah I don't think those numbers are right. I was induced with all three of my kids and none of them are even close to autistic.

Iv heard of the recent study but not the numbers. The numbers don't seem right.

I thought when reading that it was rather strange. I only know 1 person (my neighbor) that was induced and both her boy and girl are autistic but she didn't find out until her son was in the 2ndgrade and her daughter in the 5thgrade. They both have different types of autism.  I just wondered if anyone knew of such studies.

I have 4 kids. 9 6 3 18 Months. And with all of them  i have been Induced. my kids are very smart and no signs of Autistic i don't believe. that

I got induced with mine. Before my due date and she fine and smart. And my sis was induced cuz her fluid was low and my nephew is fine.

^agreed.. thats def. false. I know so many women that have been induced, none with autistic children.

That would mean out of the 10,000, 9,900 were autistic. There's no way that's even logical.
