Okay, so my brother's new gf wanted so badly to throw me a baby shower so I decided to let her since no one else had offered at the time, like she was so adamant about it & from the sounds of it everything felt like it was going to go perfect...well I'm weeks away from the baby shower& now she's giving me all of this crap about money -_-!! Me being the person that i am, I'm considerate of that fact that she has a family of her own so I would never expect for her to go broke for a baby shower but on the same note I feel as if she knew what it would be before she even offered now I'm pissed & stressing because she sent out these whack, homemade invitations,  like to me an invitation says a lot, if people see a nice elegant invite they're more prompt to coming, I cried all day yesterday bc I was so embarrassed & mad! everyone keeps telling me I just need to be appreciative but THIS is my FIRST baby & it's suppose to be special for me, but I really feel like not showing up to my own baby shower!! idk what to even do at this point :'(

I understand how you feel but seriously....invitations are null and void these days. 3 years ago for my baby shower my mom and sisters spent way too much money on my baby shower because it was my first baby and the first grandchild..... It was nice but in reality no one cares but you. We had center pieces and high end decorations. And guess what.... No one cared. They only cared about celebrating the baby and seeing all the cute gifts. We spent 125 dollars on fancy invites....with a baby pic and everything.......no one cared.....and no one still have theirs. Not even me. Plus we had invites left over.

We all want a special day for our shower. With fancy cute things. But we forget that its not even our shower, its the BABY'S shower. My mom spent 400 and some of dollars on my baby shower. We even had a three layer cake. And we could have spent that money on the baby. Only a fourth of the cake was eaten at my shower. The rest was frozen like a wedding cake. Lol trust me dear. We want gloss and glam, but its so unnecessary.

Be grateful and stop complaining. You're lucky to have someone who wants to throw you a shower in the first place.

Usually in a traditional bby shower diffrent people pay or donate diffrent things like one person offers to do food one offers to make up the games nd so on nd so on but I dnt c y an invitation would have u upset ... And honestly a lot of people now are doin home made invitations nd really leaving "elegant" ones for maybe a wedding ?? But I would b greatful for anyone wanting to help a lot of people r unfourtanate to even have one nd like u said she's the only one who offered nd technically its all about the bby neways

My mil told me when we first told her at 5 weeks pregnant that she was planning the baby shower that she was decorating that she was cooking and them I ask her in November about it and she goes "oh I don't have the money to do that anymore" so now I'm a month away from my baby shower and haven't even gave out my invitations ... I am now planning it all on my own!!

U don't need lots of money to throw a baby shower. Why would u waste so much money on invitations ppl are gonna throw away.  Honestly if ppl judge u for an invatation then they dont deserve to be invited. I didn't spend hundreds of dollars on mine and i maybe spent 80 ollars on my baby shower excluding food and it came out perfect. Sooo maybe u will have a beautiful baby shower. I agree tho she shouldnt be complaining about the money that's why I always throw my own baby showers so ppl wont be complaining I spent this and that.

Exactly ! Honestly you should do your own bbyshower. My mother wanted to half *** mine cus I'm not with my daughters dad so I'm throwin my own. Hey two bby showers doesn'thurt !:) chin up girl

I know i shouldn't be stressing but I've been crying my eyes out all day & night smh people always half *** you when they feel like they're doing you a favor!

I feel you girl. Your firsr bbyshower SHOULD be special & if she offered to do it for you then she shouldn't have to be complaining about the money she spent cus afterall she's the one who offered to throw you a bbyshower.
