baby sleeping with parents

So I only let my almost 2 year old son sleep with me when he doesn't feel to good, but I never get sleep cause when I move he Wakes up crying. With this baby im going to let her sleep with me for a few months after birth then into a crib like I did with my son. Is that heartless cause I can't sleep at all when my kids sleep and I'd rather them in a crib. My bf let his daughter sleep with us and I had to sleep on the couch cause I can't sleep!!!

It's not heartless , that's your baby :) but as much as I want my baby to sleep with us I would rather make it a habit of him sleeping in his crib so were gonna start him in a bassinet in our room for the first few months then move him into his crib in his room .

I have a California king. If my kids wonder in here its no big deal.  Its rare though my son is five and daughter three my son slept with us until around two. He broke himself of it after awhile. Same with my daughter. I breast fed my children until around 6-7 months. It was easier when they were right beside me.
i am a light sleeper and would rather it just be my husband and i.
Its not heartless. just what works better so every one gets a good nights sleep. :)

I never let my kids sleep in my bed unless they are sick too just cause we all seem to sleep better when we are all in our separate beds. I never feel bad about that because it's what is safer for us because although I am a pretty light sleeper my husband is not and we sleep with a lot of blankets.

Not heartless at all. I'm breastfeeding and my daughter is 9 weeks old and she sleeps with me for now just because it's easier for feedings at night (kind of an excuse, haha, we're working on transitioning her into her crib). I definitely want her in her crib before 6 months, though. I'm a SUPER light sleeper, there's no way I'd ever worry about rolling onto her at all or her falling off the bed, I have a good grib on here and a co-sleeping guard in the way, and she's never inbetween my husband and I. Otherwise, do what's best for you. I just suggest getting her out of your bed before a year because the longer they sleep with you the harder it is to break, of course. It's easier said than done, good luck!!!
