I went to the doctor today and asked her to do vaginal cultures on me because my baby's dad admitted to being with other females I'm waiting on the std results but she did and swab and the results were ready during the visit and she said she found bacteria and prescribed tinidazole/tindamax... Can anyone give me insight on what kind of bacteria it could be and has anyone taken this medicine before... Its 4 pink pills to be taken all at once

Thank you ladies I've looked up symptoms to chlamydia and I only show the discharge symptom nothing else there is no smell or odor... And yes he is indeed wrong for what he has done he could have just told me the truth I wouldn't have been mad I would have made one or two decisions and either made him wear a condom or not had sex at all

@Meganina: I'm not sure why you stated she had chlamydia.. because that test takes time to come back..? just because she was prescribed pills, doesn't mean she has chlamydia. they would've told you today if that was the case.. I think you probably just have a bacterial infection, which is totally normal.. like someone else stated, bacterial vaginosis.

I used to get BV all the time, it was just my own body causing it, definitely didn't come from sex. just because you were given a few pills that does NOT mean it's an STD. those STD tests take a couple of days.. unfortunately I've been given chlamydia before & I had no signs or symptoms. I went for a regular pap smear, and I got a phone call 2-3 days later.. luckily it was easily treated with a shot & I've never looked back! good luck, and I'm hoping all is well! ((:

It does not automatically mean that it's chlamydia! About 3wks ago my doctor told me I had an vaginal infection from sex and I was prescribed tindamax, so im assuming they prescribe it for most vaginal bacteria! Just don't have sex until you get checked again.just to be safe! Ugh some people should really get there facts right before commenting!

I been in your shoes. I'm sorry. There is one thing to be grateful for is that its a bacteria and curable. My bf have me herpes now I get to live with that the rest of my life and tell my future partner what I have before we get serious.  Guys are dikcs

I don't have an odor though just a discharge... When I find out the results I will make a post... Yes it's embarrassing but it's the price I paid for putting my trust in him the way I did

Its chlamydia dear.  He needs to be tested and treated as well.  It will clear up and your baby wont be affected.  I know its embarrassing. I was given chlamydia also and didnt know until I found out that I was expecting.  Be thankful that the ob found it before it got too serious.

I'm in the same kinda situation my doctor told me i had clamedya and my baby dady gave it to me so thats how i found out he was sleeping around ...now I'm separated from him and i feel disgusted. But the hard thing is that I'm expecting his baby

They prescribed him some when they prescribed mine but I won't be sleeping with him anymore for a fact he lied at first when I asked him so all trust is lost in fact we're not even together anymore

Never took these pills and I will never sleep with my boyfriend who been messing around with other woman... just be careful and I hope everything works good for you

He may need to take some meds to clear up himself. He should get checked if you plan on sleeping with him again. BV is pretty common tho. Sorry I haven't taken them pills so I can't help...

Bv also know as bacterial vaganosis   I've had it several times but it doesn't necessarily come from sex. It could be an off balance in your vaginal walls or your bf could not be cleaning after sleeping around but keep in mind as a woman we can get that anything its like a yeast or uti.
