Im a ftm and me and my partner have decided to bottle feed our baby when he/she arrives due to personal circumstances it will be easier but when I mentioned it to my midwife she sorta looked down her nose at me and was far from willing to accept my decision does prefering to formula feed really make me a bad mummy? It doesnt make u a bad mommy at all. I wanted to breastfeed with my first and unforyunately i wasnt able to as my milk never came in. My son is now 3 and as healthy as can be. You can bond with your child te same way with a bottle and even better as u.can have eye.contact and still have skin to skin contact. Im not sure if ill.be able to breastfeed again this time and im honestly not sure if im going to try. I had a horrible experience witjh it the first time and jut loved bottle feeding. Theres always going to be people who are judgemental and swear by breastfeeding but dont let them get u down stand your ground and know ur doing the right thing. Ps about the csection and being overweight is totally bs. I was very overweight with my first and had a natural birth. I lost a ton of weight after baby and went into this.pregnancy alot healthier and hoping.for natural again:)

doctors prefer you not to formula feed if possible because of the deaths that were cause'd by it in 2008 and 2009(the formula manufactuers were gerber and Enfamil) they also say it can increase the risk of sids(because the babys will usually overeat and fall into a "deep sleep"), I've saw 3 different lactation consultents and after they all explained basically the same thing and how bad formula was I totally changed my mind about formula(I was going to strickly formula feed because they told me theres a 75%chance ill have a C-section) but I was told I could pump and that would keep pressure off my stomach.. they also say its better bonding time with the mom and baby, and babys are overall healthier if breastfeed they get more nutrients and also get antibodies from the mother

No you're not a bad mother ! I had my baby 2 months ago. I didn't even breast feed once. He's been on formula since day one. We currently use the enfamil newborn. The powder and the ready to use ones when we go out. There's many of us out there who never breast fed. You'll be fine :)

You are most deffinetly not a bad mommy bc u want to bottle feed. im not exclusively breast feedin either. im using both bottle and breast. some women just cant handle the stresses of breast feedin and sometimes its more convenient to bottle feed. u do what is best for u honey.

Don't let them guilt you into it. I'm doing half/half. I wont be publicly bf but I will at home. And you more than likely won't need a c section. I'm overweight and mine has never even mentioned a cs. Your midwife sounds lame.

I don't think that makes you a bad mommy at all! Heck! Not feeding your baby makes you a bad mommy lol! Anyway! Do what is comfortable for you and screw her! And I suggest a new midwife as well! She is too judgemental and idk what she has going as far as your weight. That doesn't sound like professional advice to me. But I say do what you feel is best for you and your baby and screw everyone else!

I definitely does not make you a bad mom! I didnt breast feed my first. She was on formula since she was born. I didnt even attempt it. Most people looked down on me because i didnt even try but i dont care. Y daughter is perfectly healthy and has only been sick once in three years. So i personally dont see anything wrong with not breat feeding.
