I think you gain more with the first baby. I am over weight this time with my 5th for the forst time, starting out at 195. I have gained 12lbs and am 30 1'2 weeks. I only gained 1lb till like 16-17 weeks I think. Watching what you eat and exercising will help tramendoulsly!!!!! I think you just need to not worry about what you look like and the belly will come:) Oh I am also very large chested. I have grown two cup sizes already so far. I do have a very round belly though but it does tend to look smaller from my chest.LOL I would suggest not eating fried foods and watching portions and junk food and sweets. THe sweets and junk food will be no benifit to the baby or you and it will be harder to get off later on. But hey think of this , if you breast feed the weight will melt off!! I have nursed all mine and was smaller then when I started after lik 1-2 months. It burns the calories like crazy!
Yeah I am enjoying every minute of this pregnancy! I find though that when I am out I purposly rub my belly so ppl are like, "ok, shes pregnant." lol...anywho thanks for the replies, I just needed a venting moment!
I've also been overweight with both of my pregnancies from start to finish and even now. I did not have the cute baby bump that smaller women get but i loved every minute of my pregnancies. They say when you are overwight you should gain less weight the normal. I was told to gain between 15 and 25lbs and not 25-35 lbs. So with my first i gained 23lbs and my second i had lost 5 and then gaind 15lbs although he was born at 33weeks. I also did not show untill 5 or 6 months, but just enjoy this time of life.
I've been overweight with most of my pregnancies and the most I've gained was 26 lbs (under the recommended 35). Once I hit about 6 months I leave the "is she pregnant or just fat" stage and enter the "wow she is really pregnant" stage :) I know it's hard, starting out overweight and then adding to it can really bring you down. Just remember to watch what you eat, make healthy choices. Dont' do like me and eat 2 packs of reese's cups a day LOL. I've always wished I could have that cute little basketball tummy, but, alas...it's not in the cards for me. As you said, you have been blessed with the joy of creating life. Try to enjoy the other pregnancy moments...the movements, being able to watch your belly moving around, the anticipation of what your baby will look like, picking clothes, picking names (if you haven't already). As long as baby is healthy, that's the ultimate goal.
