Heating your deli meat for safety had more to do with the temperature you heat it to, not the process used. Microwaves work just as well as any other method as long as you get it hot enough. You can look up the recommended temp; I don't know offhand as I am just avoiding deli meat altogether.
I drank regular black tea, green tea, blueberry tea, chammomile tea, spiced chia and apple cinnamon tea while I was pregnant. I didn't have an issue. My doctor just told me to really cut back on my coffee and soda intake. (Prior to pregnancy and after I was done breastfeeding I drink about 2-3 pots of coffee/day.)
SUPER SORRY, I SO MEANT TO PUT THE (UN). LOL. BUT I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT FRYING THE DELI MEAT, I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION JUST MICROWAVE. THAT'S GOOD TO KNOW.
The bacteria on cold cuts can only be avoided by frying them in a pan on med/low on both sides for about 10 or 15 seconds. Microwaves wont kill bacteria. Some seafood you can have, most shellfish is safe, tuna in small amounts is ok as long as it's fresh out of the can. ( I just completely avoid tuna if going to resteraunt to be sure). Raw fish is definately a no. Any meat you cook has to be cooked completely to avoid any risk of bacteria contamination.
correction......pasturized cheese is ok even if it's soft.........no unpasterized cheese. Read the label, make sure it just says pasturized.
I WAS TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM DELI MEATS, COLD CUTS, LIKE HAM AND TURKEY. IF YOU EAT THEM, IT'S SAID TO MICROWAVE THEM. AND SOFT PASTURIZED CHEESES ARE A NO NO. ALSO DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE, IT'S SAFE TO AVOID SEAFOOD. THAT'S JUST A FEW I KNOW, BUT I'M SURE THEY HAVE PLENTY MORE.
Thanks. :) umm Any other foods and drinks I should stay away from?
Some herbal teas are supposed to be bad. I still drink Earl Grey, Peppermint, and Chamomile. I know Sleepytime has a warning not to drink it if you're pregnant.
