bed rest at 37 weeks

Due to high blood pressure and. Swollen feet/ankles/legs/hands. I'm only a fingertip dilated but I've been effaced for a few weeks! My cervix is really low and my babies head is right there. Would it be a bad idea to have sex?? I have an appt on Monday and I'm hoping they say I'm dilated more or something. But I'm on bed rest so I feel like I'm gonna end up being over due! Willy doctor induce me if I still am swelling and have a high bp?

Yeah she was the one to send me to l and d because she thought I had it but blood results came back and it turns out I don't.  My swelling has gone down since I've been laying here but everytime I get up to walk to the bathroom or get food they swell again.  Plus I have shin splints so it's even more uncomfortable lol

It sounds like you have pre eclampsia. Did you talk to your doctor about it?

Okay thank you! I had my appt yesterday and I was then placed on bed rest. While I was being monitored yesterday my contractions were 8 mins apart. So hopefully he decided to come soon! I was taking nifedipine for a couple weeks because I was having contractions every five mins and they wanted tto stop it but stopped taking it yesterday. I have my appt on Monday so I guess I will seethen. I'm thinking about trying to have sex and see if that does anything.

Idk why a dr would put you on bedrest at 37 weeks or were you on bedrest prior? You can have sex while on bedrest unless youre on pelvic rest as well or complete bedrest. But at 37 weeks youre technically full term and obviously baby is ready but if the dr put you on bedrest because of swelling and high bp and its not working then yes it is likely you will be induced. But if the bed rest is helping then i doubt the dr will induce you. Also if you were put on bedrest for other reasons and now youre dealing with swelling and high bp you will probably be induced
