GBS

Has any of you ever tested positive? If so was anything wrong with your baby because of it? I got my results today and was positive :( I'm so scared that my baby will come out with defects if she were to come in contact with the bacteria :'(

I tested positive and was told not to worry at all about the results. Also only 1 percent of babies have the bacteria transfer so that is hardly a reason to have antibiotics pumped into you. Lastly you have to have the antibiotics in you 4 to 5 hours before birth to do anything in the first place.

All three of my pregnancies positive for it.  Had antibiotics during labor and all was fine.

I was positive with my daughter and received the antibiotics, she was fine. I tested negative this time and I am nervous the test was wrong and that i should get the antibiotics anyway being I had it before.

I was GBS positive with my 3 year old.  She is perfectly healthy and had no side effects.  The only bad part was getting the IV antibiotics.  The nurse didn't give them to me slow enough, so it was VERY painful going into my vein.  Make sure you let the nurse know ahead of time to not rush the meds into the IV, and you can also ask for an ice pack.  I am 37 + 2 and GBS positive again.  Good luck!
