Waiting it out or D&C ??

Hey ladies

I haven't had any bleeding or bad cramping yet... This past Friday I found out baby stopped growing at 7.3weeks about and the sac measured at 9w1d about I could see the shape of the baby clearly on the U/S . Doc said to wait and see if I'll bleed this weekend if not to call in and schedule a D&C :( BUT what is best ,don't you think it should prob be best to wait it out . I really don't think I have the power to go through it again . 2010 at 7.4weeks same thing, I then went under the whole procedure . So natural vs. D&C . Anything I can do to speed things up if I rather choose natural Or How long can it take? I'm scared but trying to stay strong And positive. I just want my body back to normal again . I can feel my body is confused still. Sigh

So I've been trying to get second opinions and the rest just refer me
Back to my current doctor , saying his the only one to sort this out and and and. So I've phoned my doctor trying to get some quotes if I have to the a D&C , because I haven't showed any signs of bleeding yet and it's almost 3 weeks when the baby past. I do however get cramps when I sneeze or cough or hold a pee in etc. I was hoping to hi naturally, pass it on my own. And hoping to avoid the D&C , cause I am also in a waiting period with my medical aid, ouch! So it looks like I am going to have to go the D&C route or do you think I can hold on longer without eying any infections ?  I'm back in gym this week trying to keep my mind of things . I made peace with everything and will try again when time is right. I sneezed now awhile ago and seem to have period like cramps maybe I'm close ?

Thank you ladies for your stories and advice . Appreciate it :) so I ha a chat with my doctor and they convinced that I will definitely bleed by Thursday, if not thn I must call and get the D&C as they say its risky to wait too long . I'm not experiencing any cramps anymore and I have no traces of spotting as yet. So I will just wait till Thursday. I'm going to te gym now for the first time again since I found out I was preggies an maybe the gym helps my body to relax or something and I think it will be good for my mind :)))) xxxx

I had 2 missed miscarriages. And they gave me medicine called misoprostal to help me pass faster. It lets you misscarry without forcing your cervix open, but it is faster then waiting it out especially if you have a high risk for infection like I did.
Wishing you peace and healing

@Della12 I'm so sorry that it hasn't happened yet... I know you were hoping that the cramping you had would mean youre body would do things naturally. I suggest you go see youre doctor at this point and ask how long is safe to wait and if he thinks you will pass it.  ( sometimes a d&c is necessary BC of the risk of infection) I know when I had my second trimester loss they told me I could wait 4 days but I didn't want too.. it was already traumatizing enough I didn't want to have my dead baby inside of me.. it was just an awful reminder. I really hope things work out for you.. and if a d&c is best its really not bad.. I've had it done before.. yes there is a chance you could get an incompetent cervix but its not likely.  I have incompetent cervix.. that's how I lost my first baby at 19+5 and the second time I lost my baby at 18 weeks her heart just stopped I got a d&c.  Talk to the doctors they can give you the best advice.

I can't add any input because I have never been through this but I did want to say I am sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the emotional pain. Whatever decision you end up making will be what is best for you.

I had a miscarriage naturally but I didn't know I was miscarrying til that day if thar makes sense. If I could of had the choice of a d&c I would of. It hurt so bad physically and emotionally. I wanted to try right away but I had to wait for bleeding to stop and then for my hcg level to go to 0 which took 9 weeks :/ overall I think a d&c is better but its totally your choice! And I'm sorry for your loss

It can, it's a missed miscarriage, where you don't bleed and your body keeps producing pregnancy hormones, but it's one of the most uncommon form of miscarriages. I would talk with your doctor about how long is the absolute longest you can wait, it will make it drag out a little longer, but that way it's all natural, it's not putting you at risk for an incompetent cervix in the future, and preterm labor, a little longer wait now for a healthy pregnancy later., you know? i hope it happens quickly for you, and I hope you have a healthy easy pregnancy next time!

Thanks for your feedback KTowne . Yes I feel like waiting out. How long is too long though. I'm just scared for infections and is it true that the sac can still keep on growing ?

I had 2 miscarriages in a row and personally i opted for the d&c because i was ready to try again and i didn't want to wait since i was only bleeding a tiny bit. But its complete up to you and whatever you feel is best. Don't let anybody including doctors pressure you into anything. Im sorry for your loss.

If it were me, I would do all I can to try and naturally miscarry. Sometimes it takes a few weeks.. sometimes it won't at all, but def. wait the time limit that you can. If you plan on trying again, the least amount of forced opening of your cervix is really best. I'm so sorry for your loss :(
