Im thinking too... my final two to decide between are thr copper T and Mirena... they are both risky/beneficial... it just all depends on which one u choose based on the risks you read... copper t uses copper wires... mirena uses hormones... copper t may cause heavier periods... mirena may make periods lighter or stop them... but everyone is different so it depends on how ur body works with the device... I have never used any iud before so im jus going off what I read... but I jus wanted to add my 2 cents... its a hard decision but I think I might go with the mirena... still open to advice tho
I had the mirena for 3 years. It made my periods lighter, and eventually I rarely got one. I could go months without having one (was really nice).a week after it was first inserted I had an overload of bacteria, but the doc gave me some antibiotics and I was fine. I had it removed in july and got pregnant in September. But that can always fluctuate. My aunt a long time ago, had the implant in her arm, and it moved on her, caused her to gain weight, and caused a rash where the thing was. There is always a risk with any form of birthcontrol, because its stopping the body from doing something it naturally should. Not all is 100% effective either. Talk to your doc about the pros and cons. Google will normally just be full of cons.
Yeah my doc told me to do my own research and that we would discuss whatever ones I wanted to know more about. I just wanted some personal experiences.
Well that was mine. Hoped it help. I'll more than likely be getting it again if I can't get my husband fixed.
I had the Mirena iud have me horrible cramps!! Then the implanon & it was the fat devil for me..
